“Though you have not seen Him, you love Him; even though you do not see Him now you believe in Him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are now receiving the goal of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”
- I Peter 1:8-9
This summer was a “first” for many things. A first for our AMF Summer Missionary Ministry, “Big” STAR DALLAS Week, Follow up Week, being hosted by a new church (Nueva Vida) during STAR RIO, and most of allà sending our TFC and KFC Campers to camp accompanied by our first time Counselors! We have learned many incredible lessons from our “first-time” experiences. We knew (from experience), going into this summer, that in order for us to succeed in anything we did this summer God would have to come through BIG TIME—And He did!
These Encouragers are geared to inform you on the main ministries that took place this summer. We will be attempting to adequately summarize all of them into a hard-copy newsletter soon. We wanted to use our KFC Encouragers as a messenger to provide you with four concise ministry summaries.

Lindsey, Jacey, and I want to thank all of you for partnering with us again this year in ministry. We loved receiving your encouraging responses to our KFC Encourager every night before Kids For Christ. We will be restarting the Tuesday night Encouragers in September. We have also set up a new tool for us to use to communicate with you. This tool rhymes with frog, but isn’t a clog:

We will be able to post more helpful information, references, Prayer and Praises, dates, pictures, etc… via this blog. If you have any questions please feel free to call or email us.
Teen Camp- Shaquomn, Travon, Diquan, Edell, Korey, Josh Rackley (SM), Franky, Kiara, Netanya, and Corneisha were all able to attend this year’s Camp Joy Teen Camp. Our Counselors were Geoffrey W. (CA), and Jenny McCreary. I recently met with our Counselors to evaluate the ministry that took place. Building relationships throughout the week was what the C’s valued most about their experience. We talked about and prayed for each teen camper. You can pray specifically for Travon Jones who is still dealing with the loss of his baby sister, and Netanya Christian’s (has attending KFC since she was old enough (4rs.)) spiritual discipleship. PTL for our great C’s!
Jr. Camp- Jason, Cadarious, Jovontte, Joseph, Micheal, Antonio, Alex, Tyrese, John Paul, Emily, Zykia, Denise, Kiana, Labesha, Charlesia, and Juliesha were all able to go as campers. We had another great team of Counselors with Josh Rackley, Devin Carter, Bethany Crumpton (all Summer Missionaries), Katelynn R., and Micheal (pictured with Micheal R.). The highlight of this week was the 4 boys and 4 girls who were led to Christ and discipled during camp. The C’s along with the Camp Joy Staff enjoyed seeing the camper integrate. Katelynn R. told me that t one night one of the girls-Abbey- in her cabin got really scared so Zykia invited her to spend the night with her in her bunk. After the week was over Abbey told Zykia that she was really going to miss her new friend. Please pray for Labresha P.. She had several questions about God and Salvation- that were answered!
She along with 7 others from KFC made first time professions of faith!PTL!
Intermediate Camp- Allen, Alexzavier, Denoryce, Carlos, Devante, Mychea, Ladericka, Brenda, Adiryah, and Aviyah were our Intermediate Campers! Juanita #1, Juanita #2, and Micheal (all from PDD), Josh R., and Katelynn R. served as our C’s. A very special thanks goes out to those who served as drivers to and from all of our camps. Josh Okada, Emily C., Bob Johnson, Albert Ruiz, Matthew, Lindsey A., and myself. You all came through for us in a huge way- If you hadn’t our campers would still be at Camp Joy, OK! Thank You!
To me, this was the most important week of camp. I have worked very closely with all of the boys who went as campers. God has brought them a long ways from where they were when we first started working with them! Our C’s really valued the opportunities they had to disciple our campers. It was also exciting for them to see the campers integrate and stand up for each other. Katelynn R. really enjoyed being able to get closer to the girls in her cabin.
Please pray for Carlos Simmons. I always look for him first when I go to their school or rec. center. He has started to do the same for me. God has a plan for his life so pray that God would allow us to continue to be a part of it.
Please also pray for us as we follow up with the important and eternal decisions that our campers made this summer.
A Special Thank You!
We also want to give a special thank you to the Camp Joy Director and his
Wife, Dan and Kay Curtis, for allowing our TFC and KFC Campers to come and be ministered to by them and their wonderful staff. I grew up going to their camps and I was very eager about bringing our Campers this past summer. I know it was a stretch on both ends of the spectrum inviting inner-city teens and kids who had never-ever been to camp before to attend a very conservative Christian Camp. However, I have not found a single camper since we have returned from this summer’s adventures who does not want to come back. You allowed God to work through you into the lives our teens and kids.
Thank you so much- from all of us!
“He took a little child and had him stand among them. Taking him in his arms, he said to them, “Whoever welcomes me does not welcome me but the one who sent me.” Mark 9:36-37
